More About Jim Barnes

After a career in public accounting, I decided to sell my C.P.A. accounting firm. I pursued a career in the real estate profession and applied my knowledge and negotiation skills that I used in the accounting profession. I acquired my real estate agent's license in July of 2002. As an agent with Sotheby's International Realty, I achieved recognition as being one of the agents whose production was in the top 15%.I understand what seller's needs are and what the market offers. Selling one's residence or investment property (Commercial property or Residential Rental Property} requires financial and economic consideration, which my professional accounting background provides the necessary tools to accomplish the seller's goals.Working with buyers is an exciting journey that allows my energy and knowledge to be put to the test. The buyers are either becoming first time homeowners or acquiring a new home or investment property which are both challenging and exciting experiences.I give clients a realistic perspective and an honest assessment of the market as it relates to their current needs. As a real estate professional with my accounting and finance experience, I bring negotiation skills and years of experience to my client. Upon completion, the real estate transaction must be successful and satisfying to my client. My priority is spending time with my family. Beyond that, I enjoy building furniture and fishing, especially fly fishing, with family and friends. I volunteer for several non-profit organizations. I have been President of the Salinas and Gonzales Rotary International Clubs, a Committee Chairman on the Salinas Californian Rodeo Association, a Board Member of the Natividad Medical Foundation, a Board Member of the Monterey Bay Symphony, a supporter of Sun Street Centers, an Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and several other charitable foundations and events.
